Abstract

The objective of this research is to analyze whether the managerial skills of managers of micro and small enterprises (MSMEs) in the municipality of Tonalá, Jalisco, Mexico have an impact on the creation of competitive advantage. For this purpose, a survey was applied to the managers of mypes of Tonalá, where 411 valid questionnaires were obtained. The research has a cross-sectional design, with a quantitative approach, is exploratory, descriptive and correlational. The Exploratory Factor Analysis technique and multiple linear regression were used through the specification of two models. The empirical evidence confirms that the managerial skills of conflict management, communication, motivation and leadership have a positive and significant impact on the creation of competitive advantage.
