Management profile as an important factor in the degree of innovation of MSMEs in Tekax, Alvaro Obregon, Yucatan

Abstract

This research’s objective was to determine if entrepreneurs from Tekax City displayed characteristics which encouraged innovation and if the manager’s profile constituted the main variable linked to innovative culture. A questionnaire type instrument was applied to a sample of entrepreneurs. Results showed that this does not encourage the necessary behavior needed to promote significant innovative culture and that they manage their companies in a traditional manner; nevertheless, in spite of these results and as found in other research, a manager’s style is the variable which strongly correlates with innovative culture.
