The objective of this study was to analyze the relationship between school disaffiliation, family factors, and the risk of school dropout among students at a normal school in Mexico. A non-experimental, cross-sectional quantitative approach was employed, using a non-probabilistic convenience sampling method with students in second, fourth, and sixth semesters of Bachelor of Education in Mathematics at the Public Normal School of the State of Hidalgo. A total of 89 Likert scale surveys were applied. The questionnaire was based on school and family variables. A bivariate analysis was performed, using Pearson's correlation to assess the dependency of the variables. The study suggests that school-related factors can potentially reduce the risk of school dropout.
