Abstract

This study analyzed how accessibility to areas of a university in Mexico impacts the relationship of otherness between faculty members and individuals with PwD. Small stories narrated by faculty members were interpreted through in-depth interviews and compared to the larger institutional narrative, using performance in research (haikus and photographs). Results show that the university lacks a consistent accessibility approach within its facilities leading to a sense of uncertainty in educational relationships. Thus, the university reflects a society that marginalizes the “different other”.
